Indianola and Warren County had several emergency incidents over the course of 2018, including several hazardous materials spills due to car accidents, but was relatively quiet on the severe weather front with one exception: the June windstorm which caused a disaster declaration.
Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator Troy Bass tells KNIA News the area saw a lower amount of severe weather than in the past.
“To me, weather events were very minimal for last year. I always say that odd years bring the oddball stuff, so we could see some interesting stuff here in 2019, and we could see some more weather events with the warmer temperatures that is projected for the winter.”
