The ceremony was brief, but the meeting was longer than usual; swearing-in ceremonies were held for Marion County officers elected or re-elected in November, and were followed by the Board of Supervisors organizational meeting.

Judge Steven Guiter administered the oaths to newly-elected Supervisor Kisha Jahner, Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette and County Attorney Ed Bull in the main courtroom at the Marion County Courthouse.

Then the organizational meeting was convened, with Mark Raymie again selected to be Chairman and Jahner chosen to act as Vice Chair.

During the meeting the board reviewed its maximum depository thresholds; the county has about two dozen accounts spread out between various banks, and the resolution set the maximum amount each one can hold.

Board members also appointed representatives and filled vacancies on a variety of county, regional and state boards and commissions. Some of these are crucial to Marion County’s operations, while others rarely if ever meet; in the latter cases, a Supervisor, county officer or other representative of the county is listed just in case they’re ever needed.
