The PCM basketball teams hit the hardwood for the first time in 2019 and came away with a split at South Hamilton.
The Mustang girls opened up with a 47-34 victory on the strength of Regan Freland’s 25-point performance. The junior hit five triples in the winning effort. The Mustangs led 13-4 after the first and never looked back en route to the victory and pushed their record to 4-6.
The boys didn’t have as good as luck against a one loss South Hamilton team losing 69-53. The game went back and forth in the first half with the Hawks holding a slight 29-27 lead at the break before breaking it open in the final two quarters. Andrew Van Ryswyk had a monstrous night with 21 points and Isaac Telfer had 16 points. PCM falls to 6-3.
The girls’ team gets back on the court Monday against Grand View Christian while the boys are back at it Tuesday traveling to Fairfield.
