There was no shortage of nail biting for Pleasantville basketball fans on Saturday, as both the girls and boys came out on top in a pair of thrillers against Chariton.

The Trojan girls trailed for almost the entire game, but led when it mattered most coming from behind to win 38-35. Chariton led 29-22 with five minutes left and Pleasantville took its first lead since the first quarter with one minute to go in the game. Sydnee McKinney and Taylor Foley paced the team with 10 points apiece and Jordan Dursky added eight. The Trojans improve to 8-5 on the season.

The boys’ game was just as exciting with the Trojans squeaking out a 51-50 victory in overtime. Teron Mount came up big with 14 points and Grant Fouch chipped in with 11. Pleasantville moves to 4-7.

Both teams get back at it Tuesday at Woodward Academy.
