Fundraising has stepped up in and around Knoxville High School, with the annual Coaches vs. Cancer game just a week and a half away.
Sales of the official T-shirts closed on Sunday evening, and they will be distributed at each school and next Wednesday, January 16th at 6:00 p.m. at the high school.
There have been promotions going on throughout the season at Knoxville Panthers games, with the sale of pink rubber ducks…which buyers then throw at a target during halftime, with the closest one winning a prize.
A soup supper will be held this Saturday evening at the ISU Extension Office in Knoxville; the event sponsored by Friendly Guys & Gals 4-H Club runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with all proceeds going to Coaches vs. Cancer.
All this culminates on Saturday, January 19th as the Panthers take on Chariton; last year’s campaign raised over $74,000 and left Knoxville at number 1 in the country for the sixth year in a row. So far, the community has raised over half a million dollars for Coaches vs. Cancer.
