Pella Regional Health Center’s first baby of 2019 is a little girl.
Aylene Victoria Gonzalez was born at 2:13 am on Jan. 2. She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. Her parents are Martin Gonzalez and Anahi Martinez-Monrroy from Ottumwa. Dr. Christopher Strong was the delivering physician.
While Aylene is Pella Regional’s first baby in 2019, there were 535 babies delivered at Pella Regional Health Center in 2018. August and September were the busiest months. There were 285 boys and 250 girls. The heaviest baby was 11 pounds 3 ounces.

Pella Regional’s family of medical clinics offers 10 family practice physicians who also practice obstetrics to serve their growing service area in providing prenatal care, delivery and care of the newborn after delivery. Two new physicians, Dr. Rebecca Dykstra and Dr. Lucas Mihalovich started their practices at Pella Regional in fall of 2018.
