The Pella Police Department is asking for the public’s help in gathering information related to damage recently caused to city holiday decorations.

The Pella PD received a report on Thursday, January 10, that lights on the City’s Tulip Toren Christmas Tree had been intentionally destroyed. Pella Police Chief Robert Bokinsky tells KRLS News the extent of the damage was extensive and made the feature holiday decoration a total loss. Bokinsky says they also learned that during the holiday season, individuals had regularly cut wiring to lighted decorations within Central Park, causing them to be regularly repaired.

The Pella Police Department asks anyone having information about these incidents, or who may have committed the acts, to contact the agency at 641-628-4921.
