Several cars were left parked in areas where plows needed access in Pella, according to the Pella PD.

Chief Robert Bokinsky reports that officers issued 124 snow ordinance parking tickets over the weekend. Pella’s ordinance indicates that no person can park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or city-owned off-street parking area during a snow emergency. Snow ordinances generally go into effect any time there is significant snow accumulation forecast and will remain in effect while crews are clearing the streets.

Another potential snow storm is shaping up this weekend, with moderate amounts of precipitation expected to begin sometime late Friday and continue through Saturday, with gusty winds possible. Additionally, dangerously cold wind chills are in the forecast overnight Saturday into Sunday. Stay tuned to 92.1 KRLS for the latest winter weather information.
