Wrestling history was made on Saturday, as Waverly-Shell Rock was the host to Iowa’s first-ever girls’ high school state wrestling tournament and two Pleasantville athletes had a podium finish.

Freshman Brynn Miller finished fourth in the state at 120lbs and junior Sayde Mull claimed fifth at 106lbs. Mull’s four pin fall victories were tied for the most out of anyone in the competition. Coming into the day Mull had nine varsity wins on the season and Miller had three.

Miller and Mull will join the rest of the team on Thursday when the Trojans travel to Lynnville-Sully for a quadrangular meet.
