First responders were called to the scene of a trailer home fire at 301 High Street in Harvey last night. The home was a total loss, and no one was injured. Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Pella Fire, Clay Township, and Columbia Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. A witness told KNIA/KRLS News the occupant was trying to thaw pipes under the home and the insulation caught fire. Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department Chief Kenny Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News the best way to keep pipes from freezing is to have a slight amount of water running.
