Ice skates are now available for rental in Pella for those planning to hit the ice at Caldwell Park.

Pella Community Services Director Jeanette Vaughan says last winter, 3rd graders in Mrs. Dixson’s class at Lincoln Elementary raised over $2000 to donate to Crossroads of Pella, who in turn sent those funds to the city to purchase 50 ice skates for the new rink in the Caldwell Park shelter house. The skates are available for rent at the Pella Community Center for a $5 daily fee and $10 for weekend. A skating celebration party will be held on Friday, February 15th, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00, with discounted rentals and hot chocolate.

Find more details about renting skates and the rules of the Caldwell Park rink at the City of Pella’s website or by stopping at the Pella Community Center. Hear more about the effort on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
