A Pella Middle School teacher recently received an honor from a local veterans’ group.

VFW Post 89 recognized Social Studies teacher Kristin Schulz as the VFW 5th District Middle School Teacher of the Year. Schulz leads the middle school student council and in her class, students raise funds throughout the year for various non-profit organizations.

Principal Josh Manning praised Schulz and her ability to engage students in the classroom and with the broader world through service.
