Norwalk came to Eagle Lane and spoiled senior night for Pella Christian, earning the sweep in a doubleheader heard live on 92.1 KRLS Monday night.

The Warriors boys won 59-50 and girls 47-43, despite late Eagles comeback attempts.

In the early game, Norwalk flipped a Pella Christian 8-2 lead into a 23-15 halftime advantage. Pella Christian, behind a pair of Chloe Morgan threes, closed it to within one at the end of 3 and took a lead early in the 4th, but Norwalk rifled off an 8-0 run and never gave control back to P.C.

Allison Van Gorp was again key for P.C., scoring 23 points and collecting 9 rebounds despite playing with 3 fouls for most of the game.

In the nightcap, Pella Christian led for only the first possession against the Warriors. Despite a few rallies in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, Norwalk’s Tyler Johnson in back-breaking threes at the end of each period to keep the Eagles at arm’s length, and All-State Star Bowen Born created his own 6-0 run with the game tied in the 4th to ice it.

Pella Christian receiving 16 point performances from Jason Lai and Josh Van Gorp. Bowen Born scored 30, and Tyler Johnson added 18 for Norwalk.

The Eagles girls drop to 8-10 and 5-6 in league play; the boys fall to 11-7 and 4-7 in the Little Hawkeye. Both are at Newton this evening; hear those games live on 92.1 KRLS beginning at 6 p.m.
