The Pleasantville basketball teams had a tough time on the road last night losing to Van Meter in a West Central Conference doubleheader.

The Trojan girls got out to a tough start trailing 26-9 at half and never recovered falling to the Bulldogs 58-23. Josie Hutchings led the way with eight points. Pleasantville closes the regular season 9-10 and they gear up for their first round regional game on Saturday at home against Pella Christian. That contest can be heard on 92.1 KRLS starting at 6:30 p.m.

The boys didn’t have any better luck losing 61-44. The Trojans played an even final two quarters with the Bulldogs but a 32-15 score at half was the difference. Teron Mount had 15 points and Mitch Harken added 11. Pleasantville is now 7-12 and they close out the regular season tomorrow at Carlisle.
