A slow start and digging themselves a huge hole was too much to overcome for the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad Friday night as the Panthers fell to Van Meter 60-48. Knoxville was down 33-7 at the half due to missed shots and not a lot of energy. The Panthers were down by as many as 32 points before chipping away at the Bulldogs’ lead and had it down to 11 before running out of the time. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports after a bad first half, the girls played much better and looked like themselves. Katie Keitges led the Panthers with 18 points while Maggie Wilkins put in ten. Knoxville finishes regular season play at 14-5 and will host Norwalk on Wednesday in the first round of the class 4A regional
