Setting her new personal-best with a nearly four-foot improvement in the weight throw, Kennedy Morris was the meet champion at the Darren Young Classic for the Central College women’s track and field team Saturday afternoon.

Central tied for fourth with 51 points in the 11-team field. Nebraska Wesleyan University was the champion with 221.5 points. With her new personal-best mark, Morris is No. 2 all-time at Central and sits near the top-10 in the current NCAA Division III qualification list. Kaeleigh DeWaard of Pella also scored in the weight throw with toss of 46-1.25, respectively, good for eighth. Kiki Pingel, also of Pella, was eighth in the 400 meters (1:00.78).

The Dutch will be back in Waverly next Saturday for the Wartburg Invitational.
