The PCM wrestling team competed in a program’s first state dual tournament yesterday at Wells Fargo arena and finished eighth in class 2A dropping all three of their duals.

The #6 seeded Mustangs opened the day falling to #3 Osage 47-21, lost a heartbreaker to #7 Independence 39-36, and then sat their individual state qualifiers for the final match against #8 Sergeant Bluff-Luton losing 70-12. Individuals with two contested match wins included Chance Palm at 138lbs and 145lbs, Colby Tool at 145lbs, Jarron Trausch at 170lbs, and Lucas Roland at 182lbs. Other winners on the day included Trey Thomas at 106lbs, Landon Fenton at 113lbs, Payton Drake at 120lbs, Cooper Sloan at 195lbs, Scott Greiner at 220lbs, and Jace Smith at 285lbs.

West Delaware took home the gold winning the class 2A duals. Eight Mustang wrestlers now gear up for the individual state tournament today including Fenton, Drake, Tool, Trausch, Roland, Smith, Cody Wallace, and Wes Cummings.
