Pella’s girls basketball team will kick start their playoff journey against a familiar foe Saturday night.

Little Hawkeye Conference foe Norwalk is coming to town to try and spoil the playoffs for the No. 15 ranked Lady Dutch. And while the girls in green had no problems with the Warriors the first time they met in a 52-20 win, the last time the teams met, a much-improved Norwalk team pushed them to the brink, as Pella escaped with a comeback 52-45 win. It’s a fact not lost on Sophomore Forward Madison Naig, who felt like they were rusty and not playing at a high level in the majority of that contest.

“Our Norwalk game, we came back from some games off and we were very rusty, and in the 4th quarter, we really pulled together and pulled it off as a team, and I think that’s one thing we can look to and strive for, is to be that team all four quarters,” she says.

Opening tip from Pella High School for the Class 4A regional semifinal is now at 3 p.m. Saturday night, with pregame coverage starting at 2:30 on 92.1 KRLS.
