A food trail connecting Marion and Mahaska Counties through the alphabet recently received state recognition. Marion County Development Commission Director Carla Eysink says the A-to-Z Foodie Trail earned awards from the Iowa Tourism Office and the Travel Federation of Iowa. It was developed in conjunction with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau and partners in Mahaska County as a way to highlight the various food and drinks unique to the region. The A-to-Z Foodie Trail was awarded “Outstanding Niche Marketing Initiative” and “Outstanding Market Collaboration.”
