After several rounds of snowfall have impacted the region already this winter season, more is on the way starting tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, 5-8” is in the forecast beginning late this evening and continuing through Wednesday morning. The storm will likely spread from the southwest corner of the state to the northeast in a similar fashion to this weekend’s snow event, which recorded 5-7” in south central Iowa, including 6” in Pella and 6.5” in Knoxville. Snowfall is expected to start between 7 and 9 p.m. in the region.

A winter storm warning is in effect from 9 p.m. tonight through Wednesday at noon.

In this winter season, Knoxville has recorded approximately 47 inches of snow, while Pella is at approximately 42 inches.
