Knoxville Boys Basketball Player Elliott Schmidt has been honored with 20 other players from around the state with the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Boys Academic All-State team. Schmidt had his best season of his career this season averaging 12.2 points per game, and grabbing a team high 134 rebounds for the Panthers. The 21 members of the state-wide team averaged 12.3 points per game, a GPA of 4.0, and 12 of them are either number one or number two in their respective senior class. Schmidt will be honored during halftime at a semi-final of the boys state tournament on Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena.
