There’s less than a month until the deadline to apply for a grant from the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation, and the organization is urging groups which may have use for their funding to put in for consideration.

The foundation offers grants to any not-for-profit organization seeking assistance for a project in Knoxville; in the past, the foundation has supported everything from memorials and building work, to band uniforms and baseball field lighting.

Dylan Morse is with the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation; he tells KNIA/KRLS News they are also open to receiving donations, especially from persons who want to help as many different projects as they can.

“I’ve had a lot of conversations with people that say, ‘I wish there were a way that I could give money to every organization in town; there are so many good groups doing so many different things, I wish I could support them all.’ Well, if you donate, make a donation to the Heritage Foundation,” Morse says.

“We take your donation, we combine it with other people’s donations, money that we’ve invested over the years, all of these kinds of things…and then we spread it around town, to all of the groups that are doing good things around town.”

The deadline to apply for this year’s foundation grants is Monday, April 1st; application forms are available at Iowa State Savings Bank or on the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation website.
