The public will have the chance to look at this year’s Knoxville School District budget, in advance of next month’s public hearing on the spending plan.

The School Board has authorized publication of the full budget and an accompanying summary; it will be available up until the April 8th meeting, during which the board will hold a hearing and then likely vote on passage of the budget. It will take effect on July 1st.

The board also heard plans for a fundraiser to be held by students at Knoxville Middle School, one which will be entirely internet-based.

The company Stepitupkids will help with this fundraiser; students from the sixth through eighth grade will be asked to email ten friends or relatives each, asking for donations. The goal is to raise $15,000 to go towards student culture items, sports equipment and field trips.

A kickoff party will be held on March 27th; the campaign would last for one week.
