The Simpson Storm baseball team is off and running to start their 2019 season, winning their first three games. The Storm swept Utica in a pair of games 10-0 and 1-0, with Tanner Jansen pitching a complete game for a win, and Brady Held pitching after falling behind 9-4 early, but a 7-run 6th put the Storm out in front for a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The Storm get back in action today against New Jersey City.

The Storm softball team split their games against Pitt-Greensburg and Stockton Monday, winning 15-0 and falling 6-1 respectively. Against PG, the Storm scored 7 runs in the bottom of the first to take a huge lead and never looked back as Emily Bell started the game inside the circle and had two innings of work for her third win of the season. She allowed three hits and struck out two batters. Brooke Fonley finished the final three innings and gave up three hits. Falling to Stockton, the Storm got out to a 1-0 lead, but gave up 6 unanswered to fall in the contest. The Storm take today off before another doubleheader on Wednesday.
