Several Pella and Pella Christian boys basketball players earned Little Hawkeye Conference postseason recognition this season.

Pella’s Logan Shetterly was a first team selection for a Little Dutch team that finished in 3rd place in the conference, behind eventual 3A State Champions Oskaloosa and state runner up Norwalk. Shetterly was a unanimous first team pick, along with Norwalk’s Bowen Born, Oskaloosa’s Cole Henry and Xavier Foster, and Indianola’s Evan Gauger and Quinn Vesey. Logan’s 18 points per game were 5th among scorers in league competition.

Ryan Gustafson and Nick DeJong of Pella earned unanimous 2nd team honors as well. Gus hit 29 three-pointers against conference foes, which rated 5th best, and DeJong’s 93 rebounds were 3rd most in the league.

Pella Christian had two second-team honorees–Junior Post Josh Van Gorp and Senior Point Guard Jake Pringle. The Eagles were the 5th place team in the Little Hawkeye Conference, finishing with a 5-8 record, and seven of those were against the league’s top four finishers. Van Gorp averaged 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per Little Hawkeye game, and Alex Pringle’s 2.7 assist to turnover ratio was 2nd best in the conference.
