The Simpson Storm baseball team won in walkoff fashion against Beloit Thursday, while the Storm softball team split their games against Bridgewater and Wheaton. The Storm baseball team took an early 4-0 lead only to have Beloit put up a 4-spot in the third to tie the score. The teams traded blows from then on, before Beloit took an 9-8 lead in the top of the eighth. The Storm scored a run in each of the 8th and 9th to seal the win off of a Kolton Arnold single to right field. The Storm softball squad scored two runs in each of the first and fourth innings against Bridgewater to win 4-2 with Emily Schilke picking up the win in the pitching circle. Against Wheaton, Simpson had a 3-0 lead before a 5-run inning made the deficit too large to overcome as Simpson fell 5-4. The baseball team is now 4-1, and softball is 6-6.
