The Pella Christian track and field teams will have their final indoor tuneup before the outdoor season begins next week. The Eagles travel to Grinnell College today to compete among several central Iowa schools. Earlier this week at the Iowa State invitational–and while competing against schools from 1A to 4A, Pella Christian was paced a long throw in the shot put from Blake Veenstra, good for 11th best. The Eagles 1600 sprint medley team of Cody Boender, Nathan De Bruin, Lucas Bandstra, and Bryant Agre was 17th fastest, and Kyle Fynaardt and Jayden Huisman’s placed 18th and 21st respectively in the long jump. The girls opened with a 4th place overall finish in the shotput by Allison Van Gorp, as well as an 11th place finish for the 4×100 relay of Erica Nikkel, Chloe Morgan, Mary Kate Bandstra, and Avey Amelse. Nikkel also placed 11th in the 60 meter dash.
