There are more details about a case of child endangerment involving a Knoxville man, and the grandchild in his care whom investigators say shows signs of having been abused.

49-year-old Rocky Wooldridge was charged after the Marion County Sheriff’s Office was informed about a minor at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics by the Department of Human Services.

DHS says Wooldridge is the child’s grandfather, and the child was living in a room covered with plastic sheeting, with one blanket and one pillow, and used Pull-Ups and wet underwear present. DHS had Wooldridge sign a safety plan, and take the child to the hospital.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office was also notified, and they report seeing injuries such as thermal burns on the feet and deep bruising on the arm. The child reportedly had not been outside the house since last summer.

Wooldridge also faces charges of possessing weapons as a felon, with those weapons reportedly within reach of the child.
