It was a very good start to the Melcher-Dallas Boys Track and Field season as the Saints took home three gold medals plus a personal best at Crawford Invitational at Clarke last night. First places went to Ethan Harrington in the high jump, Emery Sage in the 1600 with a personal best 5:03 and the 4×800 meter relay team of Harrington, Sage, and twins Steven and Ryan Krpan. Coach Bart Elliott told KNIA Sports he was very pleased with the effort from everyone considering he had nine guys available. Team scores were not available. The Saints head to Meskwaki Settlement tonight.

The Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad debuted for 2019 last night with a fifth place finish at the I-35 Relays. J’Lyn Knutson dominated the distance events winning the 1500 and routing the competition in the 3000 by over a minute. Grace Overgaard came away with two medals in the field events in the discus and shot put. The girls will rejoin the boys at Meskwaki Settlement tonight.
