Pella Christian Sports Rundown for April 4th, 2019:

The Pella Christian boys track team were the big winners of the Warhawk Relays, scoring 128.5 points to edge HLV at 121. Pella Christian was led by 1st place finishes for Blake Veenstra in both the shot put (46-11) and discus (157-03), Carson Breon in the 110 meter hurdles (17.27), as well as the 1600 meter relay of Levi Schelhaas, Jayden Huisman, Lucas Bandstra, and Bryant Agre of 3:59.19 and the 4×400 meter relay of Bryant Agre, Huisman, Schelhaus, and Bandstra.

The Eagles girls placed 5th, with Allison Van Gorp winning the shot put throw (37-03) and Erica Nikkel racing ahead of the pack in the 100 meters (13.64). The Sprint Medley (Nikkel, Kayla Natelborg, Mary Kate Bandstra, Chloe Morgan), 4×100 (Natelborg, Marie Johnson, Emma Witzenberg, Morgan Fopma), 4×200 (Nikkel, Morgan, Natelborg, Bandstra), and Distance Medley (Nikkel, Natelborg, Bandstra, Morgan) teams all placed 2nd, as did Annaliese Admiraal in the 3000 meters. Both the boys and girls will return to racing Saturday at the Oskaloosa Invitational Saturday.

It was a doubleheader sweep for the Pella Christian soccer teams, with the girls winning 4-0 in the opener and the boys winning 2-0 in the nightcap against Centerville. For the Eagles girls, they had four different players score goals, including Molly Bolt, Avey Amelse, Linsday Breon and Anna Van Zee.
Pella Christian is 3-0 for the first time in program history, and travel to No. 10 in 2A Norwalk Tuesday.

The Eagles boys earned their first win of the year against the Big Reds, with goals from Tanner Garton and Noah Cooper. The 1-3 Eagles are back in action Monday at Des Moines Christian.

It’s a 3-0 start for the Pella Christian girls tennis team after they defeated Indianola 8-3 at home. The Eagles had singles wins from Morgan Bush, Lizzy Posthuma, Jaden Joy Morgan, and Kitty Gu, with doubles wins from the Bush/Posthuma, Gu/Van Der Pol, Van Wyk/Vander Molen, and Grace and Maria Heap duos. Pella Christian welcomes Oskaloosa to Eagle Lane on Monday.
