At the most recent Indianola School Board meeting, FFA members and parents spoke during the public comments period regarding the growth of the ag program in Indianola, and to ask the board to consider the hire of another ag teacher in the district. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the hire of another ag teacher has been on the minds of district staff and the board for awhile.

“We have had great growth in our ag program with excellent participation, with a lot of great things delivered and a lot of great experiences. We understand that we are a community and a state that ag is very important and we support that. We added a second ag sponsor this year to help with the extracurricular part or out of the classroom part, but as far as adding a second ag teacher it is something that has been considered by the board and continues to be considered.”
