A project by the Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance aims to bolster the local workforce long-term. President of the PACE Alliance Executive Committee Mark Putnam says the Pella Talent Pipeline is a collaboration between local businesses and organizations to continue to establish programs to recruit and develop skilled workers for local employers.

“We’ve taken this very seriously as a PACE Alliance group and we have a Workforce Council that has been trying to study ways in which we can improve workforce,” he says. “We came up with this idea of creating a vertical integration of all of the levels of education and training and development that would help us not simply to educate the folks that are here, but to attract from the outside into this pipeline.”
