The Indianola girls track and field team were just 8 points behind conference champion Pella last night in Newton at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet scoring 146, while the boys were also a second place finisher with 137.

Top finishers for the girls included Bailey Blake and Jadyn Forbes finished 1st and 2nd overall in the 400m and 3rd and 2nd respectively in the 800m, Alivia Bauer taking home 1st in the discus and shot put, Lauren Blake 1st in the high jump, the 4x400m relay placing 1st, and sprint medley placing 1st, while Grace Gioffredi and Leah Blake were 3rd and 4th in the 100m, Aryss Forbes 4th in the 200m, the 4x200m relay placing 3rd, and the shuttle hurdle relay placing 2nd.

On the boys side Eric Baldus won the gold in the 3200m, Matt McKnight and Max Cleveland were 1st and 2nd in the high jump, Kolby Kolarik and Tryce Kirgan 1st and 2nd in the long jump, Carter Erickson and Kolby Kolarik were 3rd and 4th in the 100m, Kolarik was 4th in the 200m, Wyatt Woodruff 4th in the 400m, Cleveland and Erickson were 3rd and 4th in the 110m hurdles, Blake Kennedy was 2nd in the 400m hurdles, the 4x100m relay was 3rd, and 4x800m relay and sprint medley were 4th.
