Both Pella track and field teams earned wins in the final regular season meet of the spring Monday. Pella’s boys edged Norwalk by .33 points to claim the overall meet, while the Lady Dutch dominated the field with a team score of 155 points.

Pella had wins on the girls side from:

The Pella boys had 1st place finishes from Jordan Buma in the 110 meter hurdles, tying his older brother Michael’s school record time of 14.93, Josiah Wittenberg in the mile (4:43.48), Cutler Turner in the 3200 (10:54.67), Nick DeJong in the shot put (59-5), and the 4×800 relay (Drew Van Hauen, Colby Van Gorp, Braden Rowe, Mason Johnston – 8:58.97).

Pella Christian’s boys placed 5th in a tough field, scoring 89.33, while the Eagles girls put up 74 points to claim 4th. Top finishes for the Eagles included Blake Veenstra with a school record discus throw of 173-01, Allison Van Gorp in Shot Put (39-07), Annaliese Admiraal in the 3000 meters (12:20.16), Drew Geetings in the High Jump (5-10), and the boys distance medley relay (Levi Schelhaas, Jayden Huisman, Lucas Bandstra, Bryant Agre – 3:50.51).

PCM scored 92.5 points to place 4th in the boys and 68 points, good for 5th, in the girls races. The Mustangs girls shuttle hurdle relay of Morgan Uhlenhopp, Lexi Kuecker, Chelsea Bird, and Megan Cowman won their race (1:09.7), and the PCM boys sprint medley of Payton Strovers, Preston Van Wyk, Reed Worth, and Nigel Sperfslage earned 1st place (1:36.97).

All area high school track and field teams head to the state qualifying meets on Thursday.
