A Des Moines man has been charged with a felony count of drug possession, after police reportedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia while searching his hotel room.

Knoxville Police arrested 37-year-old Benyemin Zargarian at about 2:00 a.m. Monday morning; they entered the hotel at 1702 N. Lincoln Street to check for a wanted person.

Officers say they found a syringe with a liquid sitting on a table, and the liquid later tested positive for meth.

Zargarian was arrested on outstanding warrants, and search warrants were obtained for the room and vehicles.

He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
