The Pella City Council will set a public hearing to approve a contract for Oost Poort Alley water and sewer project at their meeting Tuesday. The council will officially review bids for the proposed infrastructure upgrades on July 2nd, which is estimated to cost the city $192,700. The project is the first in several scheduled downtown to update the city’s water, sewer, and storm sewers, some of which are over 100 years old, according to City Administrator Mike Nardini. The project is scheduled to begin late this summer. The Pella City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Public Safety Complex.
