Reading logs will be available for children of all ages wanting to participate in the Summer Reading Program at the Pella Public Library next week. Youth Services Librarian Katie Dreyer says prizes will be given out to participants from infants to teenagers for completing daily reading goals, from parents reading to their babies to teenagers reading at least 15 minutes daily for two weeks straight. Dreyer says it is key for youth of all ages to stay engaged in literacy year-round, especially during summer vacation from school or daycare. In addition to the reading logs, the Pella Public Library is hosting a wide range of weekly activities and special programs throughout the summer months.
