The Knoxville Public Library is getting ready to move back into its permanent home, and will be shutting down operations for a three-week period while the move is underway.

The last day their temporary location at the old East Elementary School will be open is Friday, July 12th; Holly Shelford from the Knoxville Public Library tells KNIA/KRLS News they will be closed to the public while the move is in progress.

“We’ll have about three weeks that we’re going to be closed; we will be boxing up, they will be installing all of our new furniture over there and we will be moving over there. And then on that Monday, August 5th, we will be doing an opening and we hope everybody will stop in and see the beautiful new renovated library,” Shelford says.

The library will have a soft opening at the regular site on August 5th, and a formal re-opening on August 24th.
