The Indianola City Council approved a three year agreement with Waste Management at their most recent meeting Monday, setting the recycling rates for Indianola residents until from January 1st of 2020 until 2022. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News there will be no rate jump for 2020.

“There is not going to be an adjustment in the first year of this agreement unless we experience something significant like we did earlier in 2018, where the markets just skyrocketed. So for a 48-gallon container it will $3.73 and 96-gallon will be $4.30.”

Waller also said in 2021 the rates will go up 10 cents each for the next two years for the 48 and 96 gallon recycling containers.
