The Pleasantville Baseball Squad splits its games at the Colo-NESCO Invitational on Saturday. The Trojans lost game one to Webster City 5-4 in nine innings. Cael Berglund took the loss in relief pitching three innings and striking out three. At the plate, Cael Lester had the highlight of the game swatting a home run. The Trojans did not let a tough loss get to them in game two against the host Royals. After being down early by scores of 3-1 and 4-3, Pleasantville scored an incredible 19 runs in the fourth inning to blitz past Colo-NESCO 22-6. Lester clubbed his second home run of the day while six Trojans had multiple RBIs led by the five from Lester. Jeremy Colboth pitched two innings of relief getting three strikeouts. The Trojans will dive back into the deep end of the West Central Conference pool tonight against a team they have some familiarity with in the postseason in the past few seasons, Van Meter. Coach Sheldon Card tells KNIA Sports he will tell his players to stay within themselves and not let the opponent dictate the play. Van Meter is currently 4-1 in the West Central Conference, while everyone is trying to catch Woodward Granger, who is 8-0.
