Abby DeJoode threw a gem in Pleasantville’s 3-0 win over Van Meter in softball on Monday night. Both pitchers were locked in with neither allowing any runs the first four innings until the Trojans pushed across a run in the fifth when Josie Sowers brought home DeJoode. The Trojans got some insurance runs in the sixth. Sowers went 3/3 with an RBI, DeJoode walked just two and struck out six. The baseball Trojans fell to the Bulldogs 9-3. Pleasantville started off trailing 6-0 after the first two innings but settled down to cut the lead to 6-3 by the fourth. The Trojans are 5-9 on the season.
