Arthur says the planes were built for pilots returning from World War Two with close to 4,000 of them being built from 1946 through the late 60’s. Arthur adds, they are known as the Volkswagen of the sky because they are small economical planes good for people learning to fly.

The convention activities will begin Friday, June 28th and include a fly out to the Blakesburg Airpower Museum at 10 am, a food truck at the Knoxville airport at 2pm and a hangar dance at 7 pm.
