The Pella Community School District has several projects staff will be working on as kids are away from class this summer. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says construction is ongoing on a new drop-off and pick-up area at Madison Elementary, and several playground improvements are also scheduled. He says at this week’s school board meeting, a new safety protocol was approved, which ties into several safety enhancements being made at buildings district-wide. Additionally, Ebeling says the board is still seeking applicants interested in filling the vacant board seat left by the resigning Lisa Jansen.
