Indianola Parks and Rec is hosting a Be a Hero Pool Party tonight, celebrating the community’s heroes, veterans, and first responders at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center. Vehicles and first responders from the Indianola Fire Department, Indianola Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Unitypoint Life Flight Helicopter Crew, US Army Reserves, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office will be on scene, as well as members of the Iowa League of Heroes. Kathy Kester with Indianola Parks and Rec tells KNIA News there will be free hot dogs, water, and sno cones available provided by community partners, and the response from the community has made this whole night possible. The Be a Hero Pool Party takes place tonight from 7:30 to 9pm, and is free to attend.
