Pella Christian knocked off a ranked softball team on Eagle Lane Monday, defeating No. 13 in Class 4A Oskaloosa 6-4.
The Eagles fell behind 2-0 after two, only to score four times in the bottom of the 3rd, highlighted by a 3-run home run by Cheyanne Collins. Osky would score in the top of the 4th and 5th to tie the game, and the Eagles busted that knot loose with a pair of RBI singles by Danielle Vande Voort and Sierra Pleima. Each would finish with two hits, and Chloe Morgan had a 3-for-3 night for Pella Christian.
The baseball team could not climb out of a four-run first inning hole in the first inning of an eventual 8-2 loss to Oskaloosa. Pella Christian’s baseball team is 8-7, and the softball girls improve to 7-9 — both host Pella Wednesday for two games.
