Monday was a busy day for local fire departments with two fires occurring in Marion County. The first fire began in the early morning hours at the intersection of Van Buren Drive and Highway 5 and involved a camper that was fully engulfed in flames. The camper had broken down and the owners had left it on the side of the road overnight. Sheriff Jason Sandholt tells KNIA/KRLS News they are considering this fire as suspicious, and it is under investigation. The second fire occurred at a residence in the 400 block of Dennis Street in Harvey just after 11:30 am. The second fire was extinguished just after 4 pm. At approximately 5:25 a caller reported the house was on fire once again and crews were dispatched a second time. This fire is under investigation as well.
