In was domination in all three phases of the baseball game when Pella and Pella Christian clashed in the Tulip City showdown, in a 10-0 Dutch win heard live on 92.1 KRLS Wednesday night.

One costly error led to three Pella runs in the top of the 2nd, and it was all ace Tanner Dunsburgen needed, as he cruised to a complete game, two-hitter on 86 pitches. Pella Head Coach Jesse Jablonski says the defense behind the junior was exceptional, forcing 14 ground ball outs in victory.

River Baker led the Dutch offense–who cashed in on six Eagles errors, with a 3-for-5 night with five runs batted in from the leadoff spot, including hits in a four-run fifth and three-run seventh. Devin Haveman took a hard-luck loss in 4 ⅔ innings, giving up seven unearned runs. Haveman and Will Dembski had the lone Eagle hits offensively.

Pella improves to 6-12, snapping a six-game losing skid with their 3rd conference win; they host Indianola for a single varsity game this evening, which can be heard on 92.1 KRLS. The Eagles drop to 8-8 overall and 5-5 in the conference, and return to action Friday at home against Norwalk.
