It was one of those nights for the Knoxville Softball Squad as they fell to class 3A #7 Albia 16-4 in three innings. The Panthers actually started off in the top of the first up 3-0 after Maddy Findley doubled to center field, then Alex Griggs singled, followed by an Ashlyn Finarty single to score Findley, and Olivia Maasdam brought home Griggs and Finarty. However, the Lady Dees would plate six runs in their half of the first, seven in the second, and three more in the third to send everyone home early. Knoxville would get a run in the second on an RBI single by Findley, but that was all the scoring for the Panthers. Coach Coy Hupfeld told KRLS Sports whatever Knoxville tried to do, Albia just hit it right back into the field. Finarty took the loss as the Panthers fall to 9-11 on the season and 6-3 in the South Central Conference. The Panthers are back home tonight facing a difficult challenge as class 4A #2 ranked ADM comes to town.
