Class 2A number three Pleasantville Softball swept two from Madrid last night. Abby DeJoode owned the first game as she was perfect through four innings of work to pick up the win 14-0 over the Tigers. Game two was a different story, as Madrid rolled out its number one and controlled the game from the start, leading 3-1 when the Pleasantville bats woke up the Trojans had three straight hits to tie the game at three. Madrid came back to retake the lead 4-3 after the sixth inning, but a Hannah Gibson home run tied it and Faith Vanderheart drove in the game winner. DeJoode got the win in game two pitching in relief. Pleasantville is now 19-5 on the season. The Pleasantville Baseball Squad was swept by the Tigers last night. 7-5 in game one and 3-1 in game two. Coach Sheldon Card told KNIA Sports defensive issues had his team playing from behind all night.
