Noah Van Vark’s eighth inning single gave the Pella baseball team a 3-2 victory in game two last night against Norwalk, salvaging a doubleheader split.

In game one, the Warriors held off a late Little Dutch charge to earn a 6-5 win. Trailing 6-2 entering the seventh, Pella pulled within one on a Van Vark sacrifice fly and Nick Grandia two run double, but they couldn’t push across the tying run with the bases loaded and one out.

It was a seventh inning rally that kept game two alive as well. Down 2-0 entering the final frame, Pella tied the game on a wild pitch and a River Baker RBI single before Van Vark’s walk-off single plated Gabe Thomas an inning later.

Drew Hillman had three hits on the night for Pella, and Thomas slugged a game one home run. The Little Dutch are 7-14 on the season and will return to action tomorrow night at home against Newton.
